F1 Inspired Brick Kit

The McLaren F1 Standard is the original design — iconic, road-legal, and true to the real car. The GTR is a full redesign for the race version: it has different building instructions, a unique sticker sheet, a lowered roof, and different internal components (including an added fuel tank and removed passenger seats to reflect its race-focused configuration). These are two distinct builds, not variations of the same model.

No. The Standard and GTR are completely separate products with different instructions and components. Once you purchase one, you cannot switch or upgrade to the other. Choose the version that appeals to you from the start.

Both versions are based on the same iconic car — the McLaren F1 — so we've listed them together to make it easy to compare and decide. But they are separate products with separate builds. We didn't want to overwhelm you with two separate pages when the choice is really just: original road car or race-spec GTR?

The Standard version is the original McLaren F1 design. It includes one set of wheels. As a bonus, you can also build the LM version as an upgrade — but if you want the GTR-style wheels for the LM, those are available as a separate add-on on this page.

The GTR is a full race-spec redesign. It includes different building instructions, a custom sticker sheet, a lowered roofline, a fuel tank component, and a revised interior reflecting the real GTR's race configuration. It is a standalone product.

It depends on which kit you choose. Builder Kits are produced and shipped within two weeks of your order. Complete Kits and Alternative Kits take a little longer — typically four to five weeks — as we also need to source the bricks. You'll receive a shipping confirmation with tracking once your order is on its way.
